Journal Aims, Objectives, and Scope

The Ukrainian Scientific Medical Youth Journal (USMYJ) aims to disseminate the results of current research in medicine and related sciences, promote academic culture, support research activity, and contribute to the professional development of early-career researchers.

The journal is primarily oriented toward a young scientific audience and seeks to provide an accessible academic platform for presenting research findings, developing scientific communication skills, supporting professional growth, and fostering academic careers.

The main objectives of the journal are to: ensure open dissemination of scientific research findings; support early-career researchers at different stages of their academic and professional development; promote skills in preparing, presenting, and discussing scientific results; provide high-quality independent peer review of submitted manuscripts; promote the principles of academic integrity, publication ethics, and responsible research conduct; encourage interdisciplinary and international scientific communication; facilitate the integration of Ukrainian researchers into the international academic community; and provide readers with access to up-to-date, evidence-based information in medicine and related sciences.

The Editorial Office seeks to combine internationally recognized practices in scholarly publishing with contemporary standards for high-quality peer-reviewed journals, while maintaining a strong commitment to supporting the early-career scientific community and ensuring open access to scientific information.

The Editorial Board brings together leading experts from Ukraine and researchers from other countries. Through the peer review process, authors receive expert evaluation of their manuscripts and constructive recommendations for improvement.

The journal adheres to the principles of academic integrity, editorial independence, and publication ethics. Submitted manuscripts are screened for inappropriate textual overlap and assessed for compliance with relevant ethical and bioethical requirements.

USMYJ provides equal publication opportunities for authors from Ukraine and other countries and applies the same editorial and scientific standards to all submitted manuscripts.

The scope of the journal includes current topics in basic, clinical, preventive, and experimental medicine, public health, biomedical sciences, and related disciplines.

The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, case reports, and other types of scholarly contributions that are consistent with its aims, scope, and editorial requirements.

Target Audience

The journal’s primary audience includes early-career researchers, postgraduate students, degree candidates, physicians, educators, and researchers in medicine and related sciences from Ukraine and other countries who seek to present their research findings, develop scientific communication skills, exchange professional experience, and engage with the international scientific community.

At the same time, the journal is open to authors regardless of age, academic status, country of origin, or institutional affiliation, provided that the manuscript falls within the scientific scope of USMYJ and complies with the journal’s editorial requirements.
